In the process of making sculpture, the initial stages are generally spent learning about the subject, learning about it by drawing it, recording behaviour and movement, knowing it intimately and capturing its spirit and likeness.

Sometimes drawings are made simply because it is a wonderful and satisfying thing to do.

This results in many packed sketch books and scribbles on pieces of paper.  Some of these are shared here, and they have formed a small collection of wildlife greetings cards.

Inspiration for the first range of bird and animal notelets came about as a direct result of moving to a new workshop, and discovering the nature there.
