So often my thoughts turn to concern about nature, the environment and conservation and what, if anything, I can do to help in supporting the beauty and diversity of the natural world and maybe provoke contemplation of environmental issues. Subjects such as biodiversity loss, the climate crisis and sustainability, and in particular our disregard for wildlife.
For me the Badger is perhaps a symbol of how much we need to change our attitudes to nature and find a way forward where humans and wildlife exist together in harmony.
The sculpture will I hope convey some of the Badger’s resolute character, its solid and undaunted spirit and celebrate its brave family and social bonds.
